Lyon Eye : A Smart City Big Data Analytics Platform using Urban Open-Data and Social Media

As part of our challenges to develop Urban Data Analytics for smart cities at a large scale, we develop a Big Data analytics and data warehousing platforms for smart cities using a myriad of data sources ranging from open data of Grand Lyon, social media and connected devices in smart urban environments. In the first stage, we design and implement an open-source web-application to explore the touristic points of interest as well as to do sentiment analysis in the related social network data using ETL and ELT jobs, text mining algorithms and OLAP processes.
